    How many pounds of sand do I need to fill a 72" x 24" tank a half inch deep?

          says 50 lbs for 1/2 inch sounds off too me i think you will be lucky to cover the entire bottom with a 50lb bag of sand. just my .02

            i put 100 lbs in my 84X24 and have 2 inches. 50 lbs should be close.

              it took 100lb of pfs to cover my standard 55g tank, around 3 inches... maybe a tid bit more

                If you want a .5 in sand substrate it says 46 lbs needed. For 1 in sand you are looking at 92 lbs. For 1.25 in substrate you need just over 100 lbs.

                  a lot of sands are different in weight and size.. 50 pounds PFS and different from 50 lbs of Socal sand.. 50 lbs 80 lbs Socal sand filled my 100 gal easy i have 200 pounds in it tho.. and i have 2.5-3"
