    do you guys think this will hold...im thinking of buying it...

      it should, but you might want to call staples and find out if it's partical board with oak finish, or real wood. because although partical board does stay sturdy and can hold it, it warps if it gets wet, then can become subject to rot.

        most shelves made by that company are meant for you to piece together, similar to Ikeas stuff and are made of particle board.

              I would not trust it. I doubt the joints are strong enough to hold the weight long term.

                It is described as wood though, not anything else. I would go into a staples and look at the packaging. The pricetag on that indicates to me that it might indeed be real wood (i have real wood bookshelves that are put together like IKEA furniture, but still use real wood....

                  i bought it today...it was quite sturdy...but just to be on the safe side im going to connect some wood in the middle under so the its 2 rows and 2 columns of shelves

                    if you do that, humor me and get something plastic or foam between the tank and actual shelf. that way water can't pool on the shelf and foam (lowes for 9 bucks 8'x4'x.5") will disperse the weight more evenly. DEFFINATELY reinforce with solid wood. how heavy was the shelf?

                      yea i was thinking of putting something under the tank as well....the whole thing was about 60 some pounds
