Recommendation on Cichlids for tank

My wife and I have decided to get a 120 gallon tank. I have a 55 gallon now. We are moving to Huntsville Alabama early next year. They have very similar water conditions (hard) to what we have in Houston. I have been told to stay with African and Central American cichlids due to this  water condition. My wife wants larger (plus 4") in our next tank. Can anyone recommend some larger interesting colorful cichlids?? Thanks-

I am always eager to recommend getting a colony of Cyphotipia Gibberosa or Frontosa.  They get large, have long flowing fins, and live social lives where they don't kill each other.  If you need to see pics of them, I have several threads with videos of all my colonies.
