How long has the tank been set up and what are your water parameters?

so i guess it's nothing to worry about if the fish eat it when i clean the tank.

I'm also curious what fish you have in there, because if it is excessive slime coat, you'll want to find out what is causing that. Excessive slime coat is generally not a good thing. BUT having said that, anytime I've seen excessive slime coat, the water gets cloudy and fish are behaving as though they are sick.

I have two 1 inch electric blue Jack Dempsy in that tank. The fish aren't acting sick and the water is very clear.
