What kind of filter does the betta tank have? Just take some of the media (sponge, bio-media, carbon, whichever) out of that filter and place it into the AquaClear's media compartment. If it's a tight squeeze, you can take out one of the 3 media components in there for now. I'd probably take out the bio-media, and leave the carbon and the sponge. Then let that run for a week or two. Your tank should be cycled overnight, really. :)

      Pictures of tank

Attached are a couple of pictures of my tank. The plants are plastic and the background is taped on the back. If you look close, you can see one of the baby guppies!

I do have a tip for others taking/posting photos: make sure you are comfortable with ALL the elements in the photo. After looking a little closer at the book titles on the shelf below the tank I realized I needed to move some of the not so "family friendly" volumes to a less conspicuous location

6.6 gallon - guppies for now
      75 gallon - Found!
10 gallon - oh no, I have the fever!

Hey. I'm a little late in this discussion because this didn't occur to me when I first read it. But as far as something interesting you could keep in something so small, I've been reading a lot about killifish recently. I have no idea why they're not more popular, but look it up if you're still wondering about what will eventually make your tank its home.
Trogdor was a man. Or maybe he was a dragon man. Or maybe he was just a dragon. But he was still TROGDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOR!

You know, fish are great. I love my fish. But what I really want is a monkey.

So are the books moved? I'm anxious to see the tank!

Not sure what happened to the pictures. I'll repost them. I did move the books, laughing the whole time. Talk about TMI to share with strangers! Or anyone else for that matter.
