  • Flowerhorn breeding

I have a 30 gallon tank with a 8 inch male flowerhorn... I want to add 5-6 inch female for them to mate... Is my tank big enough?

how long do you plan on keeping them in a 55g? if life, then absolutely, if a few months then its fine...WELCOME TO HFB BTW

I can barely breed my trimacs in a 75g. I have to use a divider and remove the male after they breed. 55g is still too small. Most likely your female will end up dead in hours.

i was assuming you would use dividers btw, if not then you need a much bigger tank, these fish are vicious

is 30G too small for my current flowerhorn? It's been in there for quite some time now. Here a link to a short video of him.

30g is too small even for just the male alone

no problem, but realize that will be a temporary home too
