  • Film on top of freshwater tank

I have a very thin oily dirty film on top of my tank. I am curious to know if anyone has come up with a clever way of removing this.

Bailing it out with a cup is slow work.

Is it a Co2 injected tank? If not, you need a surface skimmer attachment for you canister filter.

Wouldn't that get air into the pump intake? If not, where do I get one? I have an eheim 2217.

I got a NIB Skimmer, if you need it, I'll bring it...Think I paid like $8-$10 for it at the FOTAS auction....and don't need. Still have no idea why I bought the dang thing....guess I was just bid happy! Let me know...

                  This is what I have.

Shouldn't be a problem in an established tank.
