2x Emperor 400 water filters.
2x underwater filters + water pumps
1x sponge filter ( just for fun and also to make some good bacteria in it for use in a hospital aquarium ( 10 gallon tank already have )
substrate : 1 lb per gallon of live rock for substrate.
1x 50-75' python for cleaning
1x twice daily automatic fish feeder ( thinking about it just in case, would be convient to start and then as I get more expensive fish stop using it )
1-2x - 200-300 watt heater ( not sure which brand yet )
1x 4' background underwater design
and of course, the ph/nh3/nitrate/nitrite/ water hardness/specific gravity test kit
2x digital thermometers
2-3x fish nets, different sizes
4x 5 gallon buckets ( just for the heck of having an extra or two )
fish food
water treatment chemicals
1x algae pad scraper
ok.... I THINK that is my entire check list..... did I forget anything?
UPS power supply will be added at earliest finacial chance.
ANY ADVICE on my above setup before I go buy all this stuff?
Next question I would like your guys help, if you don't mind..... is what goes in my aquarium.
The MAIN fish I would like to put in is the percula clown fish. Of course, I am thinking maybe 6-10 of these is plenty...... ( and also get like 5-6 LARGE long tentacle anonemes for it's host ) what else would complement it?
I am thinking I need something to eat the algae, so some kind of apple slug, sea slug or crustateon crab..... and any other advice to compliment the setup and have VERY colorful and BEAUTIFUL fish.... please no one say get some oscars or groupers, lol, they look ugly from the pictures I've seen and groupers also eat clown fish, lol..... So I'm looking for really beautiful and colorful fish.... I'm thinking maybe an angelfish, If I can afford it, lol.... not sure if I could put more than one since I've read they are aggressive but I guess if they were females....
What else is truely beatiful and can go with a school of clown fish ?
I need to go to a fish store and look around but just looking for some advice, oh, also how about plants....... what are some beautiful plants and such I should get for this aquarium? I read plants absorb the nitrate build up which also helps detoxify the water......
Thanks you guys, I'm just starting out but I've read a enormous amount and hope I can get this hobby down easily, I know, TAKE IT SLOW. I plan to. I am just planning ahead, I will not buy fish for another two months, I need to buy my tank and all that other equipment first and then start a nitrogen cycle to build the benificial bacteria...... But I just want to have a mental image of what my tank will have in it before getting the tank.... hehee......
