What kind of soil are you using? How often do you fertilize? What is the lighting regiment? Is there CO2 or do you dose liquid carbon? A lot of time IMO liquid ferts can be overrated you have to read what your plants are telling you. If you use ADA soil then dont fert unless the plants are telling you then need it but that most likely wont happen. I have not fert my planted tanks since I started them but I use ADA which is rich in nutrients.

Just get O-cats to help control the algae. You already have Amano shrimp so you shouldnt have a problem. If you are still having a problem you are probably putting to much ferts in.

I have 26 watts of compact flourescent that I have on a timer for 9 hours a day. I have a DIY CO2 system with Excel supplementing it.

But as an update, the other one was dead when I checked on it this morning. So now I am left with an empty tank again with just o-cats and shrimp. :( *pulls out hair*

I am sure someone will give their opinions but I would reduce the ferts and reduce the WC
