  • Need Suggestions for restaurant tank

K, guys, need suggestions here. I got a new job, I am a manager of a restaurant that will be opening soon, k, I was told that I could set up a big aquarium. However, I am limited on funds that I can use, they have not told me exactly what.

This is what I want to do. I have a 7 foot long area, but I am wanting a 210, what kind of fish should I do for a tank that size in a restaurant, I would like frontosas, but there will be wayyyy to much activity......

    suggestions?

also, if you know of a nice tank for sale, let me know.....

I'd suggest Malawi cichlids... very colorful and active.

Dorothy : How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust ...'
He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'

Color is going to draw the most attention from the general public. Demasoni, Yellow labs, Red zebras and some other Mbuna would work well.

Although I liked your original idea of Frontossa. I have seen them before in store tanks (Gallery furniture) I think you should be able to get away with them
          120g - Tropheus Moorii Kambwimba
          180g - Petrochromis Macrognathus Dine/Tropheus Moorii Namansi I

I agree 100%. Easy to care for. lots of movement and color. I'd do yellow labs, some zebs, demasoni, and a few brightly colored peacocks. Sand substrate with some large holey rock. Finish it off with a dozen or so petricolas.

What are the facts? Again and again and again--what are the facts? Shun wishful thinking, ignore devine revelation, forget what "the stars foretell", avoid opinion, care not what the neighbors think, never mind the unguessable "verdict of history"--what are the facts, and to how many decimal places? so you don't want me to get discus?

I wouldn't do discus for a few reasons.

                              1. Constant movement of restaurant hustle and bustle would stress them out and they'd wind up hiding a lot.
                              2. Feeding and maintenance would be a little more than you'd want for a restaurant tank.
                              3. While discus are undeniably the most beautiful fish out there, their sedate nature would probably seem boring to patrons.
