  • replace hinge help

I am replacing the plastic hinge on my glass top and the back plastic part. Is there a special trick to putting it on the glass. It is hard as heck. I can get it on one end but it will only slide about 6 inches and stop. Please help.

If one of the pieces of glass is smaller than the other, I start with the small one first by putting a towel on the floor and folding the hinge in half with the edges that take the glass pointing up towards you. I start with small glass by putting in the slot and pressing down on the glass and then I repeat for the larger glass. You could also put the smaller glass on towel with edge pointing towards you and then pressing down on the hinge.

Sliding hinge on does not work very well for new hinges.

I put the hinges outside in the sun for a few hours this morning to let them soften some. Then I did like you said and it got on with a little elbow grease. thanks for the help.
