  • Moving a big fish tank

Ok, so last year I bought one of ADG's 8ft tanks, and had it set up in my house. Long story short- the plans I had for the room have majorly changed, and now I want it on the other side of the room (and not in front of the windows.... don't know why that seemed like a good idea at the time??)

Anyway, when they delivered it, they had this mini forklift thing to carry it with and to lift it onto the stand. I'd imagine I'd have to call and have them come out again to move the tank, but even just moving the fish is going to be interesting, because they're getting pretty big.

I figured with enough beer and food involved, I could possibly arrange for the lovely and strong men of HFB to come help me with this undertaking... (or to at least get it set up so the tank's ready to have the ADG people move it?)

Any thoughts/suggestions on how to do this? I figured I'd catch the fish and put them out in my pond while the move is happening... hopefully I'll have a few goldfish left I've never had a tank this big before, so obviously I have no idea how to go about moving it

lol, I don't expect people to move the tank... I think it's too big to be lifted without that forklift thingie. I figure I'd call and see when I can arrange for them to come out for the move, but I'd need help getting it ready to be moved... like catching/moving fish, etc. I might be able to get my brother to help me, since I think he'll be around this weekend, but figured I'd see if anyone here would be interested :)

I think it can be moved with the right equipment, plenty of suction cups and man power. Plan on having at least 8 guys or more. We did a 8ft glass tank awhile back, and it was crazy but we got it done.

Geoff and my Bro moved my 8ft glass tank...and only dropped it once!!! This tank is WAYYY too big to move with just guys. I think you should just get rid of it and I would consider picking it up.

Dorothy : How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.
