I'm guilty of it too!
I buy the large flats of frozen bloodworms and used to just walk around the house breaking off chunks for the fish who get bloodworms. I can't tell you how many times I set it down and got distracted, only to find it hours later melted and ruined. Now I just break off how much I think I'm going to need and thaw it in a plastic container. Then I suck it into a large marinade injector (minus the needle) and feed it that way. This works best for me now for 2 reasons. One, I no longer leave an entire flat of frozen food out to ruin; and two, I don't have to touch the bloodworms. I developed an allergy to them a while back and swell up anyplace they touch me. Anyway, so yeah, you were good to throw them out.

thanks guys makes me feel better about my choice, well i went and bought more just not the $17 pack, i like your idea of the marinade injection cause from what i read that bloodworms can irritate the skin, but my problem is i have a black ghost knife that i have to feed by hand, well i brake the chunk into 4 pieces get a small piece of plastic and grab the bloodworm chunks with that so it dont touch my skin, i am lucky cause the bgk's cave has a small hole where i stick the chunk of bloodworms in and he grabs it right out of my hand!!!! welll with the other fish i have a designated cup that i thaw the shrimp or bloodworms out and go tank to tank, but i wanna try the injector out, seems like i could portion the food out better and dont have to worry about overfeeding
