  • Is a little soap going to kill my plants.

I acidently put a little soap in my 5.5g planted tank with riccia and dwarf hairgrass. The tank only has snails, no fish. Will my plants die? Later on can I put shrimp/fish in or can I just change the water?

I do not think a little will hurt your plants but do a w/c anyway. If it's not foaming up you did not get much soap in the tank. I used to spray dilluted soap and water on some plants to kill aphids. It did not hurt these vegetables or the lawn plants.

I agree, but I would watch your snails like a hawk. I've been known to throw snails into a "questionable" tank before and see how they're doing over the next 24 hours. Plants most likely won't let you know that quickly.

How much soap are we talking about? Was it concentrated?

Best case scenario, your pH rose a little. Water changes are your friend. :)
