    Those are MTS.

They will grow and over take your tank.

Pros: keeps the substrate from building up gas pockets.

Cons: gets all up into your filter and jacks the motor up.
I ate my fish that died.

yep MTS or malaysian trumpet snails. can really take over your tank. hard to get rid of maybe try some kind of snail away product. never tried those so im not sure which would be best.

Get yourself a couple of Assassin snails. They'll eat your MTS snails. I have 2 in my 10 gallon and they keep the tank snail free. Do you have live plants? They often get introduced to your tank by eggs stuck to live plants. They will eventually multiply and you'll have lots of them if you don't do anything. They don't really cause any damage, mostly just unsightly.

No but i purchased a used set up, and my theory is they came with the gravel. Because as i was cleaning out the gravel i noticed a few of those shells. I Taught no biggie, tank has been sitting for some time if there is any live snail or snail eggs their probably dead.
