  • How many gallons is my tank ? How many Cichlids can I have?

    OK my tank measures
    36 long
    18 deep
    22 tall

I can not find this size any where I purchased it second hand.

What you have is about 55 - 60 gallons. The rule of thumb is 1"of fish per gallon, but that number can go higher with additional filtration. When you figure things out use the fully grown size of the fish.

On the bottom left of this page --> http://www.houstonfishbox.com/vforum...and-Converters is a calculator to give you the volume of the tank. Just plug those numbers in and it should spit out the number of gallons.

Interesting. I've always figured length of fish in relationship to length of tank.

            36" tank = 36" of fish.
