    I WAS ALWAYS THOUGHT IT WAS A LIVE ROCK...

    surprisingly, a lot of people think corals are plants.

      I saw this show too, but it was after I saw your thread, and it was cool to know the answer as I saw the show..haha. I really thought it was LIVE ROCK too. weird. Is there such a thing as live rock? because I know I have heard of it before.

        The rock is not "alive". What live rock is its a rock that is inhabited by different types creatures and bacteria.

            Coral organisms are Cnidarians, like sea anemones, jellyfish, and hydra (more closely related to sea anemones). I got the same responses from the students in my labs when we got to that segment.
            Tell your boss you need to go home to take care of your "cichlids." It sounds an awful lot like "sick kids." )
