Re: for the last time, how many fish?

yes, i scrapped the gouramis, right now this is what i have

5 glows (my cycling bunch) - they all made it through cycling with bravado, they have become voracious eaters - all are fat and happy now

10 cardinals - 2 from my old tank (they are 2.5 yrs old), and 8 new ones, the new one's are from fish gallery, i originally bought 10, 2 succumbed to finrot type of disease, there are 3 others of the remaining 8 that had contracted it 4 days ago, but they seem to be healing well with the pimafix, melafix combo, i have two more days for my 7 day treatment, keeping fingers crossed that the disease is gone for good

1 black neon - (my cycling bunch) 1 of the 3 left from my cycling, the other two didn't make it, i think he thinks he is a glow now, because he seems to "school" with them and chase them around most of the time

for now, i don't plan on adding anything else other than the 2 rams (when i find a pair) and 3 to 5 ocats

would a single SAE be a better choice compared to the ocats?

55 gallon - AGA standard - mix cichlid
    30 gallon tall - eclipse acrylic - semi-planted

Don't think so. I think the otos are a very good choice. And I've gotten mixed reviews about SAEs.

Dorothy : How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

ok, 2 to none, i guess i should give the guys a chance, the reason i asked was because from what i hear/read, they are hard to acclimate and such, but maybe i should try on my own and see what happens

Start with good stock and they should be fine....SAE's don't eat algae....well they are suppose to eat beard algae but from what I have seen most don't....and they get huge.

Get a group of O-cats....they fair better in a group.

              will go for ocats

ok, i don't know what came over me, i went to lfs to get a little clump of java moss and i ended up buying two new residents for my tank, i just could not resist it for some reason

well, i have been seeing these nannacara anomala for the last few weeks when i go to this lfs, and they act so cool, so i am watching them and all of a sudden i decide that i need them, all logic went completely out the window and now they are the newest residents of my aquarium!  i had to share with you guys

feel free to provide any tips on them
