Green water can be solved with excel dosing and water changes. UV to me is a waste for a plant application. I would use it with SW and fish heavy tanks with little to no plants to help disease prevention. Just my 2 cents.
Great use on green water. I agree that it's a waste on a planted tank, but if you don't want to dose chemicals on the tank, its a good option. Btw turbo twist is about the best sterilizer on the market. I always used the biggest on my 150 when I had it.
Sorry, sorry ..that "planted tank" is kind of confusing, I should have said "going to be a planted tank" .
This tank is only 2 week "new", there are a few plants in there but that is all. I hope someday I will grow enough plants then learn about "aqua-scape" ..:-)
Fish-wise, I keep only about 25 small tetras for now. I might need an UV Sterilizer to keep "ugly" green algae from "bloo...oomming".
Advices on new tank also would be very helpful. Thanks.
