I have seen some folk DIY a spiral bulb into the canopy of an Edge, there was a build thread over on the plated tank. That might be a better option. The only real issue I see with that particular tank is that the light is centrally focused and anything outside that area is destined for failure with dim/no lighting. I have seen a few folks use exterior lamps to light the outer areas, but eventually have algae issues or have to dramaitcally reduce the light cycle.

I considered a couple of external spotlights but haven't found anything appropriate yet...not that I've looked very hard.

Got my 5 captive-bred CPD's from an aquabidder today via priority mail (took 3 days from CO). I hate USPS tracking; Been reloading all day figuring it'd maybe be an hour or two delayed ... no ... who knows what really happened but at 2PM I went home and found the box on my porch. Later the tracking info was revised to say they were delivered @ 7:57 AM before they were put on the truck... I'll have to check my security cam footage later.

In any case, the water was nearly 95 degrees when I opened the box. Good thing it was in the shade! I spent an hour bringing it down to 80 degrees as gradually as I could. All of them seem fine and they are beautiful although they must be stressed. I'll try to get some pics later.

Should I feed my tank tonight?

I wouldn't feed the same night they've been introduced

The CPD's are doing great. They are beautiful fish.

I finally caught a sight of all three of the blueberry shrimp at once. I often go days without seeing any of them at all, so it's nice to know they weren't somehow devoured by their tank-mates.

I got a 100ml packet of purigen and used it in place of the carbon in my HOB. The water cleared right up like magic. I see why you guys call that stuff magic beans...

Glad to hear that everything is doing well. The blueberry shrimp are similar in care to malawa and are quite hardy in my experience.

Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

I completed my lighting mod ... I upgraded from the weak LEDs (~320 lumens total) to a 27-watt CFL sunlight bulb (~1300 lumens). I should finally be able to grow some algae!

If anyone is curious, I bought a "Trademark Home 26-Inch Sunlight Desk Lamp" for $27 (currently $38) on Amazon and hacked it to pieces. I re-used the lamp base to hold the ballast, and everything else fits inside the Edge. The corners of the tank are much brighter now.
