  • My Pump for my 125

I bought a Mag 9.5 for my new 125 gallon tank and I am trying to figure out how this all works. I finally got it plugged in and it blows extremely hard into the tank. So hard that it blows the sand everywhere. I thought about putting a ball valve on the hose but then I would be slowing the flow down so what was the point of buying such a large pump in the first place. Need some help please.

But it still blows SO extremely hard. I'm afraid the fish will become exhausted from swimming upstream constantly at a very high rate!

Please post a photo of your pump output into the tank so we can see what you're dealing with.

Okay. I will have to figure out how to do that. If someone can send me their cell number I can text it to them quicker than trying to figure out how to post a picture on here.

For that stocklist the pump is on the low side.

If you could elaborate or like stated about, post pictures it would help us help you.
                I have a 9.5 on my 180g and really don't think it's enough on it's own.

You have a 125 I think a mag shouldn't be that much. I have a mag18 on one end. Eheim 2262 on the other end with Aqueon 1250 and mp40 left and right of the tank and a maxi jet 1200 in circulation mode in my 150. Basically we have the same foot print tank I think. I think you'll be ok.

I think I've done maybe 10x as much as a 9.5b can push and didn't have a problem with sand.

Probably should be considering switching out the tank size first.
