  • LED lighting question for 34 solana tank

I'm upgrading my tank from the Fluval Edge 12 gallon (might sell it soon when I order the Solana 34 gallon).
I already decided to start a freshwater aquarium with plant carpet, CO2 in the new Solana 34 gallon cube (20x20x20). I'm in the process of hoarding equipments before I actually get the cube home.
I'm stumbling on lighting fixture, since the tank is rimless, I don't know which ready-to-use lighting fixture is good for this tank, since it's length is only 20 inches. I love the shimmering effect on LED light and feel that they are much more reliable than other type of lights. I'm thinking about the Marineland double bright LED 18-24 inches for its sleek design and doesn't seem to add too much pressure on the glass. As a suggestion from CurrentUSA, I will supplement it with 2 more truelumen LED strips 8k sunwhite. However, I'm not a DIY person (not very handy). Has anyone try this combination? Is it easy to somehow stick the strip on to the Marineland fixture? If not are there any other suggestion for LED fixture that can work on this 34 gallon tank? Thanks in advance.
I have the patience of a goldfish....

I have been wanting to try the TMC AquaRay line myself, but I cant vouch for any experience with them:

12G Eclipse - Bonsai Planted Betta & Shrimp

since you are doing planted, be aware that not all LEDs are suitable. Many of the cheaper clip ons use small emitters of questionable quality. they may not have much usable PAR at all. temperatures are often above 8000k and are inconsistent. i have been researching DIY LEDs and the successful planted tank owners tend to use OSHRAM or CREE emitters in the 3W range since they are of good quality and are available in plant friendly temperatures. I saw the fixture that h2oaggie made for his planted tank and it put out some serious visible light with only about 10-12 3W CREE emitters.
