Re: Moving a LARGE giraffe cat

Yes, me and Davis have been talking about coming to a meeting, it all depends on whether we have the kids that weekend.  If we do, we can't make it because we'll be on the road picking them up.  Otherwise, we will be there for sure!  We want to meet you guys too!

For anyone interested, here's a link to a slideshow of pics documenting the tank swap and Hoover-move.

Thank you.  It was so much harder than we thought it would be.  He's so heavy and seriously didn't want to move.  We call him our 'grumpy old man' fish.

Have those dub's bred for you yet? I got them to a few times before I sold them to you guys, but the female would always swallow. Of course, there were 20 or so other fish in there with them, lol.

Aaaaaahhhhh!!  WHAT???  One of the females is holding RIGHT NOW!  Should we move her or strip her or what???  I really want those babies!  I always strip my Fronts because the one time we didn't all but 2 got eaten.  Advice??  We have a great tumbler, by the way!

Re: Moving a LARGE giraffe cat

Hmm...if this is the first time she's held in the new tank, i'd let nature take it's course. who knows, she may decide to spit in her new environment. i think part of the reason why she didn't spit in my tank was because it was more of a display with a lot of fish...the dubs, petro, cyps, geophagus, giraffe etc. there was a lot going on and a lot of fish swimming around to make her feel threatened and swallow. if she swallows again, then just wait until next time and strip her. then let me see pics of the fry!

                    good luck

Oh definitely.  I'm gonna be the crazy person who flips out my wallet and starts showing off pictures of all my baby fish.
