Folks I was recently given some advice by Jolley, and I kinda dismissed a portion of that advice as something that I didn't have to be concerned with, I thought what he was telling me - was not something that I had to worry about.
I was wrong......
Jolley told me one of the disadvantages to a Wet Dry system on a tropheus tank was that the fry would get caught by the overflow box and I would end up rescueing them from the sump if I was not careful.
Me with my vast experience ( a whole 6 months worth ) decided that was phooey, the fry I had seen in my tank never go near the overflow box......and so......yes...you got it.....I had to rescue a fry from the overflow box today. The only thing stopping him from being sucked down to the sump was the pre filter sponge I had on the drain tube.
Moral of the story.....If Jolley shares some of his time with you and gives you any tips and or advice.....I would listen to him and not doubt anything he tells you..... :)
