  • Water change

I'm still learning all about my tank and how to properly maintain it. So had a question about doing a water change. Right now I use two ozarka water jugs that I fill up about 3 days before I change and add aquarium salt. Then when I add the water into the tank I go ahead and add the water conditioner at that time. I seen post on here about hooking up to the faucet. My question is can I go straight from the faucet into the tank or just keep doing what I'm doing?

As long as you add the conditioner you can do so. Some add the conditioner prior to the fater filling. Others at the end. Just make sure you dont leave them with out it or they will collapse.

      How big is your tank?

If you aren't doing 50% water changes with those two jugs then I would just go straight faucet.

Speaking from experience, I enjoy the hobby more when the maintenance is easier.

Get a python from petco/petsmart it will make your life alot easier for water changes. And yes when refilling go straight into the tank and add the de-chlorinator

I would not have aquariums if they did not have python hoses..lol They make water changes a much better experience.

Yep, Same here. I drain then add the right amount of Prime to the water in the tank and then last I fill straight from the faucet.

As long as you add a good water conditioner, yes

Generally, yes but that would depend on your water source. If it's always dirty, I wouldn't recommend it. If it's clear, just make sure to add dechlorinator as you're filling or right before you fill.
