I like the Current USA Satellite + lights they allow you you change the color of the light and have effects if you want, and are reasonably priced...drs foster and smith has em on sale for around $100 with shipping for the 36 to 48 in once link here especially since you won't have plants they should work well in your 92 but they are on back order until the 16th of this month.

I saw the Current USA didn't know if it would be enough light. Anyone have anythign to say about beam works? I think right know I am leaning towards the Ray 2 and buy separate moon lights.

I checked out the Current USA Sat+ lights. They're more on the Low/med side. Cool effects though!

                Here's the thread on them.

Here's the response from their side when asked about PAR ratings.

The PAR value for 1 SAT+ 12" deep is 36 micromols and at 24" is at 21 micromols. We're growing HC in a 18" deep tank with 1 SAT+ and 1 SAT regular. A SAT+ and finnex will grow any plant with no problems if CO2 is available.

                Best,
                Current-USA
21@24"/36@12" micromols would put the light at about low/med.

Low light - 15-30 micromols of PAR - CO2 is not needed, but is helpful to the plants
Medium light - 35-50 micromols of PAR - CO2 may be needed to avoid too many nuisance algae problems
High light - more than 50 micromols of PAR - pressurized CO2 is essential to avoid major algae problems
Since you're doing cichlids only, this light would work well if you like the cool effects.

As for Beamswork LEDs, they're just a Marineland knock off. Puts up about the same PAR, just cheaper.

Edit: would work for african cichlids as well. I believe it has an option to do only blues, whites, or blues and whites just like the marineland ones.

If I go the stunner route do I just need one strip or should I add blue also?

That would entirely be up to you. You can do 8000k strip or 8000/453nm strip or 8000k and a 453nm strip. If you want moonlights, you would have to do the latter.

Yup. I personally prefer the 8000K only strips. If OP likes blue, then Steven's got you on the right path.
