  • Water Changes

I am using Prime with my water changes
(215 gallon tank). I have read mixed opinions of people just adding prime to amount of water taken out and people that dose the entire amount in tank. I am adding the prime directly to the aquarium prior to refill. I have also read that some people turn off their pump first. What do y'all do???? Thank you.

I always dose for the entire tank volume to be on the safe side. When I know it rained and I really need a water change, I'll double dose, but if I don't need an urgent water change, I'll wait a few days.

I can't do a continuous flow water change anymore because my water hose can't keep up with my drain. So.. I turn off my pumps because letting them run dry is bad. Eventually the motor will burn out. If the powerhead is fully submerged then I'll leave it on and dose dechlorinator.

I dose for the entire tank and then start filling up. I prefer Seachem Safe over Prime due to tee volume if water I go through.
