How much water should a tank loose in a seven day period?

My Big tank will loss over a gal. Everything with a sump losses enough to make the pumps blow air. and overflow stop.

All my tank have sump and I have fill at least 2 to 3 gal water a week before I do water change. It is also depend on temperature location your fish tank and top glass. My fish room have no AC so the temp is 86 or higher and I don't have top glass so I lost a bit water each tank.

1gal over a 7 day period is not much at all. Thats pretty low actually.

My 40g breeder freshwater with 10gal sump loses probably 3.5-4gal a week. Open top tank.

My 75g with 30gal sump loses probably 10gal a week due to evaporation. Open top as well.

When I had my 125 reef, I would lose about 1 to 1.5 gallons a day... It just all depends on how the tank is setup such as temp, sump/no sump, lighting (Halide, T5, etc...), how many over flows, how many circulation pumps, relative humidity in the house..

I generally loose about 3-5 gallons a week on each tank 75 and 125
