The decore or scape of your tank is up to you It should be what you like. Not what others like. You can get Ideas from the many picture here. I know members here have some nice tanks.
Your tank looks very nice and clean! Real plants would be even nicer.
I started out with plastic plants and faux stuff but got bored of them really fast. Nowadays I try to create a balance between fish, tank, and natural elements (real plants, drift wood, sand, rock). An LED light would be a nice upgrade.

It looks nice as is IMHO. Like ptran I'm a fan of planted tanks but fake plants are easier to clean though. It's all about how much work you want to put into it.
I like planted tanks due to the challenge. With plants, you have the balancing act of lighting, fertilizers and carbon dioxide. It may take several months to find the proper balance for your tank. Then you have the additional responsibility to select the fish that would thrive in these conditions. I feel some accomplishment already since my Madagascar Lace Plant is not only thriving, but reproducing. However, I do have issues with other plants (bucephalandra), which I am currently addressing. Then I have some Cabomba aquatica that grows one inch per day (no exaggeration).
It is all personal preference (and the size of your wallet)!
