Prime canister filter

Anyone have any tricks to prime a canister filter without sucking on any tubes? I let my water get too low and forgot to close the input line....

Eheims are good if you have water in the lines. The Aquatops have a hand pump that is slow but effective but are a pain when you want to clean the canister, especially when you have limited access to the back of the tank.

Renal Filstar xp . Had it for 6 years. It's, quite, not expensive.
Stuff you own stuff in it. I have the 3 basket one. Has not given me any problems at all. I have a 90 gal freshwater planted tank.
And I bought another one incase this one breaks down. Still waiting. I recommend it. You can by parts for it to.

Sorry, please disregard, I found a way. Took off the intake tube of my python and hooked it up to the inlet portion of my eheim to get the siphon going. Then closed the valve on the inlet to keep the siphon there and hooked it back up to my canister. Thanks everyone

Excel Flourish or glutaraldehyde is strong disinfectant but I think beer is the better answer taken orally.

That's why I always have a beer nearby when I'm doing fish work.
