Question about my filter

I have a Whisper 60 that came with the tank bundle when i bought it. I was wondering if anyone else has or had this filter and used a different filter bag. How often am i suppose to replace the bag(s) with the carbon?

You can make your own by cutting pieces of foam bought from the LFS for use in wet/dry filters....also you can fill media into pantyhose.

As for the carbon I like to only use carbon in my tank when necessarily needed and remove it when the job is done but about 3months is a good interval.

I have that filter, I usually just have an empty bag on the frame they provide then put either another bag or a layer of the filter media on both sides of that frame to add more place for the bacteria to live.
