Hello and welcome!  I have four tanks your size and my best one has been with 2 dwarf guaromis, 2 powder blue guaromis, 2 sunset guaromis, 2 snakeskin guaromis, 2 yellow guaromis, one pleco and two corys.  The tank stays clean and the guaromis haven't outgrown it in over two years.  I have plans and a cave and all get along well.
There are a lot of guaromis but don't get the pink kissing ones - they are agressive.

Of course we all have our fish favorites!!!  That's how you get from one tank to MANY!  The love of the hobby!!!

OK, here is what I'm planning right now
a school of cardinals  (6 or so)
a pair or two  of German blue rams
3 or 4 albino Cory's
1 or 2 small angle fish (still undecided)

Zulaab - what do you mean by a root in the tank? are you talking about drift wood?  where is the best place to buy one?

Almost any of the good LFS will carry some drift wood, and some of them will look like the roots to a tree.. that is what I was thinking about when I wrote it..  yes I am not the best at writing.. English wasn't my first language to learn.
