  • Aquarium Logging software

    Good day everyone,

Does anyone use or can anyone suggest a good software for logging and tracking aquarium parameters for both fresh and saltwater.  I have been searching the net and have found several, but was hoping for some user input before purchasing any.

    Thanks,
    Don

I am using that now (not Traci's), but I am no excel person to say the least.  I was looking for something that would show changes over a period of time, at a glance.  Like fish growth, fish breeding and such.  I'm sure their are folks that can do that in excel, but it ain't me.

AquarioGest is pretty good.  I don't think you can track fish growth with it though.  http://www.aquariogest.net/

I have a database I created from a template for keeping track of fish and water readings.  It's not perfect, but I can email it to you to check out if you have Microsoft Access available to you.

                Re: Aquarium Logging software

I used the reefkeeper2 and it came with software that logged the parameters it read...graphed it and would even send email/text notification if anything fell outside of set parameters.

                    Re: Aquarium Logging software

Hmm..... What exactly do you need? Do you just want to track and graph stuff with respect to time?
Maybe i can program something up in excel and VBA real quick.... (can you say Computer Geek?)

Excel is not really a database program but it is real close. And it is easily customizable.

                      nacra99,

                      not really worth the effort.
                      My main problem is me.
When something happens, like fish breed or babies born, I forget to put it in my logs.
Then I sit looking stupid wondering when was that batch born?
I just figured if I had a program, I might toy with it more.

Did you check out AquarioGest?  It does have a place where you can add fish...born date, and link them to the parents.
