Looks like her color has lightened up and she's starting to relax. She ate some shrimp this morning and now she's just crusing around the tank.

Mine will actually eat shrimp pellets and Hikari Carnivore sinking wafers.

I see her picking at the rock and my pellets sink, maybe that's what she's eating. I dunno!  I can already see a small red spot on her so I'm hoping she will have those beatuiful red lines they get.

Nick, do you have yours with any other fish? I have her in the tank with some guppies that I've had for about 6 months. They had fry and the fry are swimming all around her. I thought she would eat them but she's just ignoring the fry and the adults. This is a way for me to test her because I would like to add some otto cats to her tank.   I just saw her blowing the rocks around searching for food. Maybe she's finding snails. :?

There is a red eye puffer kind with him, but a divider separates their tank for safety reasons. When mine was marble sized 8 years ago, I was able to keep him with other fish, but then he grew and so did his ferocity. When he got to half dollar size 2 years later, he killed a target puffer that was the same size. He can now crush MTS snails with ease, so I do not think a pleco or otto armor plating would be sufficent protection. Earlier this year, EK gave me [a bag of small] crabs that were eaten within half an hour. With a large Fahaka, a colony of MTS could be quite useful.  8)

Thanks Nick, I know they can have a bad temper but I also know a few people that have managed to keep them with other fish and still have them with the same fish. But if another fish is added it becomes puffer food. :( I was trying to figure out a way to control algea in her tank. I'm going to give it a try and if I see her go after them I'll put them in another tank. Either way I want to introduce them early and hope she don't think of them as food later.  :(  I thought that maybe if I do otto cat's they're quick and she won't care for the chase. I'm planning to plant the tank, if she don't eat all the plants, so far she's leaving them alone so we'll see how that goes too. If I can't keep plants the otto and plants will both be moved and I'll load the tank with driftwood. It's going to be a hit and miss kind of thing.

Ottos may be quick, but my Fahaka enjoyed chasing EK's crabs around until they were cornered. I should have taken a video. EK told me to take one, but by the time I got his message, they were gone!  :doh:
Maybe Chinese Algae Eaters, they a ultra fast!
