I was wondering if anyone had any tips involving moving a tank. It is a freshwater 55 gal and is going about 10 minutes away. I'm getting various advice on the internet, from just put the fish in buckets to individually bagged fish. I've never moved a tank this big, so any help would be great.
The second round of questions involves the ginormous piece of driftwood that I got from the auction. My eyes were a bit bigger than my tank and a 6 inch pierce is sticking up about 3 -5 inches from the water line. I've heard that having it half in and half out of the water can make the wood rot. Its turning whitish where it is by the light so I assume that it is drying out. Should it be completely submerged? Also, if I break it up so it can be submerged, then what is the easiest way to break up a large wet piece of wood?
The driftwood also has cool red moss on it...any idea what it could be?
