  • wet dry filter

i just recieved a pro clear 175 with a gen x pump, dunno if they re any good or not, and i have absolutely no clue how its set up....  :( could anyone pm me info or leave a link to a good guide on w/d filter? i dont have a tank big enough to put the filter underneath so a tank size would also be good or maybe a price quote for them if i wanna sell them? again, completely lost

    thx

    Re: wet dry filter

Hmm.... the genX is an external pump so You would best set that up by drilling the PC-175 level with the intake of the GenX and plumb it via bulkheads and PVC.... then plumb the output up to the tank.

Size tank would depend on the size of the pump and if you plan on using HOB overflow or if the tank is RR..... that pump might be way too much pump for the set up.

oh kk. just checked. the gen x is a pcx 30 so the flow is 850g an hour. i got it used and thats the pump the friend of a friend of the family had on the w/d. its drilled on the side where the water returns back up. any idea what its worth if i sold it? used for less than 5 months from what ive been told. and theres a lifetime warranty sticker on the side of the w/d if thats any use.

Compared to what delock sold wet/drys and iwaki pumps for this past weekend?..... $60?

I saw a wet/dry comparable to a pro-clear 400 along with a massive pump for for about that much.

Sourapple..  Did it come with a pre-filter ?  This is the device that you put inside the tank when the tank is NOT already drilled.
If it didnt come with it and you want to use it right now I will be more than happy to sell you my pre-filter.. now if you tank is already drilled for a wet/dry there is zero need for a pre-filter.. my pro-clear 175 was ordered by mistake with the pre-filter when I requested it not to be.  (ie I ended up spending money on something I didnt need)
