Live chat works best if you login and "Lurk" when you are on line. If others see that someone is in the chat they are more likely to enter and this spawns conversation. You can mark yourself away or busy or BRB but having a window open and logged in will draw others in and make this more useful.

I noticed there is no log in announcement when someone logs in. In most flash-chat set ups there's an announcement tone that sounds like the first four bars of The Jetsons theme. There's also usually a tone accompanying each post. This one is so quiet...when I'm the only one lurking it would help to have these tones so that i can have hfb up on another browser, but still know when someone has come into chat and posted.
