You mentioned wild bunnies; about 5 years ago I was with one of my sons school groups touring the Houston Zoo. There was a wild bunny that got to close to the male bamboon cage. He reached through grabed that bunny and had a mid morning snack. Mark I think it was your class; that was also the time when a baby bird fell out of the nest into the crocs water and became a snack. Maybe you should feed your animals more...LOL. later, ken
I am so jealous! I have always wanted to work at the zoo. We went to Florida in Sept., around Cocoa Beach, and went to the "famous" Brevard Zoo (or at least that is what the website said) and OMG! We were so dissappointed in it. It was a zoo wannabe compared to what we have in Houston. When we got back to town we went to the Houston Zoo, and as usual, were blown away. You really can't even see everything in 1 day. At the Fla. zoo we saw it all (plus some rats) in about 3 hours.
Can't wait to see the new lion! The tricks they did were very cool. Houston Zoo Rocks!
So, are you going to tell us what plants you have in the 90? They both look great!
Thanks!!
In the 90 the plants are:
Italian Val
Jungle Val
Water sprite (from san marcos river)
Ludwigia repens
Wisteria (Hygrophila difformis)
Ludwigia, Narrow Leaf(Ludwigia palustris)
Cabomba Green (Cabomba carolina)
Java fern
Red temple
Spiralis (Cryptocoryne spiralis)
Tiger Lotus, Red (Nymphaea zenkeri)
Bacopa (Bacopa carolina)
Me and my dad go to trips to the san Marcus river and collect plants somtimes also. thats where we got some of our water sprite and also anacaris, hornwart, water cabbage, and a couple other plants.
Hmm, a lot of people lately have been saying that their edit button has a mind of its own...technically it should be at the top of your submitted post...Is it there?
