Welcome to the Box
I do mostly Reds (or & yel) Bicolors
but sometimes strange colors end up in my fish room.
Sent a white STF to the Dallas Show this weekend.'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust ...'
He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'

Talk about weird, I just did a spawn of white X steel, and got all white fry??? the blue is not supposed to carry white. go figure.I love to breed and show betta's!

No so true, I've been breeding whites to blue buterflys to get whiter butterflys and 50% come out white.
Just in case you haven't seen it before
The following 24 genotypes appear white:
but only the four breed true

using probably 6 of those combinations.
I suppose thats why then, I have been lucky, and for years, getting steel x si/op to throw steel with red wash. seems pretty usual. but this time I used a blue grizzle from a white x white spawn. Its weird that all of a sudden what i thought to be true is not ringing out. I do think its because of the outcrosses I have gotten three years ago. I even had one outcross throw them darn marbles, I am far from a marble fan. They were beautiful but way off what I want. I only use steels to help the form and color. And my fish all carry NR from another outcross I did. Which I want to do again.
AlI love to breed and show betta's!
