    hello all i just joined this forum hope to enjoy it here hope to get some help with question about my 75 gal tank i have about 9 convicts cichlids two of them have paired and had about 100 or so fry and one big flowerhorn i think it is at least petland told me it was a jack dempsey but from what i looked up on the internet it not i found some pics that look like flowerhorn is there a differents in the two i am looking for a mate 4 it how can u tell if it is male or female i have lots of questions if anyone DOES NOT MIND HELPING

        Posting a pic would help. Please bear in mind that a Flowerhorn is not a real species and can be a hodgepodge of several different species...so they all can look different and be called by the name of whatever that transshipper feels like making up that week. Hopefully instead you got a real species and we can help you match it up and maybe do some responsible breeding.

                          i have a pair of convicts just had a brood of fry 30 to35 days ago is it to early to put in there own tank to see if pair will spawn again

                              Looks like a big ol' Flowerhorn to me. These really are great fish. I used to own a gorgeous male and sometimes I wish I hadn't sold him. If you can find someone to sex your fish, and start breeding them, you can make some FAT money. If you dont mind me asking, where did you buy him from?
