Some of you probably have seen me around other forums, specifically Cichlid-Forum and Cichlid Madness, both of which I currently serve as a Moderator ("a7oneal" on both, until I recently made the switch to "Tony" at CM for purposes of clarity). Those who are familiar with me, hopefully know me as a voice of reason and proponent of logic and civility, though I like a good curse word or inappropriate joke from time to time. I'll probably use this icon quite a bit. . .
I have over 20 years in this hobby, and have at least tried keeping many things, though with the advent of the Internet, obtaining good information is now easier than it was during half of my time as a fishkeeper. I'm always looking to learn about new species and techniques. I also keep blue-tongued skinks and have a cat. Apart from that, I am a theme park enthusiast, so moving far from Cedar Point and Six Flags Great America (which are both only a couple of hours away) is sad.
I have been keeping mostly Central and South American cichlids for the past couple of years, except when I dabbled in mbuna and shellies. I also have a fondness for Synodontis (specifically) and other catfish.
fshfrk is responsible for bringing me to the site. I am moving in a few short weeks from Kalamazoo, MI to the Houston area (still apartment shopping!), and he has been gracious in "pre-welcoming" me, to which I am immensely grateful.
I'm an open book. I like sharing my experiences and hearing about yours. I hope to be a productive member of this community, and I'm always happy to see something like this available to the local folks. If you have questions, feel free to ask!
