I want to get starter aquariums for my grandchildren. Their ages range from 3 months to 15 years. What is the best age to get them started?

In my humble opinion, the best age to get fish for little ones is around 12 months of age. I've studied developmental pediatrics extensively, and having a pet of any kind can really stimulate curiosity and ambition. Also, at 12 months of age, their site and extraocular muscles (around the eyeballs) have developed enough to be able to successfully watch fish dart around. Of course... their moms and dads are going to have to take care of the tanks!
