    Welcome to the box!

Great start, looking forward to see it spruced up with some new plants! I'd add hornwort to the list given so far- it's easy, fast growing, and can be used either as a floater or tied & weighted down for some vertical interest. And yes- root tabs! They are definitely your friend.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome and suggestions. I'm really excited to dive into plants. I'm still not sure if I should just try with the gravel, or go ahead with a substrate change. My floaters are taking off big time since I started dosing ferts. I'm planning on a paintball co2 setup. Can't wait!

              Hi, welcome to HFB.

What are the facts? Again and again and again--what are the facts? Shun wishful thinking, ignore devine revelation, forget what "the stars foretell", avoid opinion, care not what the neighbors think, never mind the unguessable "verdict of history"--what are the facts, and to how many decimal places? You pilot always into an unknown future; facts are your only clue.
