  • Greetings! (UPDATED w/Pictures!)

I suppose I ought to introduce myself. I've been poking around the forum for a while now. I see a few names I recognize from ThePlantedTank.net.

I live in Kingwood with my husband and teenage son. We've got 2 dogs, a cat and a leopard gecko in addition to my 15 tanks. Most of my tanks are planted. I've got the usual suspects - various tetras, rainbows, cichlids, plecos and catfish; dwarf shrimp (fire reds, tigers and yellows), assassin and ramshorn snails, a betta and a dwarf puffer. Looking forward to getting to know y'all.

6/3 EDIT: Added some pictures of my tanks on page 2.

Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

Well...ok. Be careful what you ask for! I've got fair pictures of some of the tanks. I'm not a very good photographer though. I'm still learning and fish are FAST! lol.

                        Here goes:

Here is a rather dark shot of my PFR/Tiger shrimp tank. I call it the Buddha tank...for obvious reasons. If you look close you can see a bright red shrimp on the side of his head! I've got tons of babies in this tank right now.

My other shrimp only tank is a 6.6 gallon bookshelf tank with yellows. This is the only decent pic that I have of it, sadly it needed a bit of cleaning that day. :(

And a rather grainy close up of one of the inhabitants...

Next to that tank is my other 6.6 gallon. It is currently housing my blue-eyes, but they are in the process of being relocated to a 10 gallon. You can see one of the females in the foreground. I'm not sure what I will put in here once they are out. I am thinking maybe something really little like chili or strawberry rasboras.

Right now, if I look to my right, I see this:

The spec on my desk used to have Jasper, the betta in it when that was taken. But now it is housing my pea puffer, Severus. Here is a not-so-good shot I got of him shortly after I first got him and a closer look at the tank below that.

Behind the spec is my 29 gallon tank. It has turned into a bit of a crazy jungle. This was taken a few months back. It currently houses neons, glowlight tetras, 1 honey gourami and 2 blue rams. All of these guys are moving out of here this summer though and into a yet-to-be-purchased 3 foot tank. I am thinking about some kind of crazy urban thing in here with potted plants and glofish. I never really liked glofish, but I've got this idea in my head now and I want to try it. Anyway, here is the current tank.

I mentioned Jasper. He now lives in a 3 gallon cylinder. This shot is a little blurry...it's how he looks after a few of my double-shot margaritas!

My newest tanks are three 10 gallons that I put up in my family room. The first one is where my gertrudae are headed. I still have rocks in there to hold down the driftwood.

The second one is my multi tank:

I am not sure what is going in the third one yet. Maybe sparkling gourami or some more small rainbows of some sort. It's just growing in until I decide.

Here's how they look all together. I've been wanting to put these tanks in this sideboard since we moved in. I really like how they turned out.

I have one more decent tank pic and that is of my 100 gallon. This was taken before any fish were added while it was still getting started growing in. Current inhabitants are boesemani rainbows, zebra loaches, longfin zebra danios and otos.

SO, that's a LOT of pictures. The tanks that didn't get shown are my 55 gallon which currently houses serpae tetra, petricola catfish, a krib and 2 BN plecos. This tank is also getting a re-do this summer in a sunken temple kind of theme. The krib and cats are staying and will be joined by other african species. The serpae & plecos are going to another tank. I also have 2 2.5 gallon tanks, one for assassin snails and one for red ramshorns; a 10 gallon that is just plants and some amano shrimp; and a 35 gallon hex that started out with a malaysian theme and ended up with an angelfish and a few tankmates.

Hopefully, my photography skills will improve along with my aquascaping abilities and I can get some better shots.

+1 on the Nice tanks. Love all the live plants. But watch out who you tell about the Pot plants... Just Kidding. I've seen some pretty cool tanks with Potted plants. Like they are on the pattio or something.

Thanks for sharing. your Tanks are cool...
