Been lurking here a bit and I figured I'd introduce myself (finally).
Just got back into fishkeeping after a hiatus of about 15 years - I had to leave my tank behind when I moved from Maryland to Houston. But I kept fish through high school and college.
I finally got back into the addiction - I mean, hobby - when my wife brought home a Betta for my 3 year old daughter. Now ... she did know that I'd been wanting to get another tank. Well, she got one of those little bowl "Betta Kits" and I would have none of that. It's just not a good environment for a fish.
Well ... she made the mistake to tell me to "do what I want".
Three months later and we now have a 26 gallon and a 45 gallon. Both are bigger than the 20 gallon that I left back in MD. I'm amazing how much - and how little - has changed. We still have the Betta with some mollies and tetras in the 26 and some angels and platies in the 45. Bristlenose plecos in both also. We've added live plants as well - a first for me. And yes, we have babies - my wife came home one day with the platies and mollies ("they were pretty"), completely unaware that the females were already pregnant. And you know what happens after that ...
