Tim measured the 30XL for me and said it was 36L x 12.5W x 17.5H......hope it's not 48"! And it's MINE now, thanks to Tim.
OK.......now that I have a 30XL, I need a top/light and filter. I come from the old fishy school where filters are concerned so I always use a bigger system than what's normally called for. Need something that would filter a 50 or 55....used and CHEAP! I think after I get my tanks up and running I'm going to have to look into a central filter system like we had at the shop in FL.
If I'm not posting this in the right slot, someone please tell me.

If you want a large Canister type filter you might look into the Odyssea CFS4 -- contact Mike @ Mike's Tropical Fish and Pets -- The filter is up to a 75g tank I believe. His Store is located at 14203 Stuebner Airline Rd. Houston, TX 77069 Phone : 281-586-8787 -- Open Tuesday thru Sunday's.
If you are looking in the used Market you may want to leave a message on the Fish Market Forum section of this board, and say something like "WTB : filter for tank... etc..."

One other thing :) The Houston Livebearers Association is gathering this Saturday - 1/5/08 - @ 10:00am which they usually have a speaker and then a mini auction on items. If you are looking to get some things an auction is always a good place to go see and bid on things.
HAS (Houston Aquarium Society) will have their Spring Auction sometime this Spring which is a MUST attend if you are looking to stock up on fish you want and get them at a lesser cost than what you can usually find things for in a store.
Check out the forums listed as HAS and HLA for more and updates there.

As for my hearing....results from riding (horse) accident back in 1981; wacked my head on a rock. Touch and go for a few weeks but I survived but my hearing didn't. Could have been worse.....I could be blind. Anyway, I don't 'sign'. I 'lip read' pretty good if no one has facial hair or an accent. Be sure to shave, Loretta. LOLOLOLOL Just kidding.
