Good morning and Happy New Year everyone.

I'm the new guppy in the pond as of 10 minutes ago. I'm 61, single, live near Lake Conroe and am back into aquariums after 30-some years. Used to own a large fish store in Pembrook Pines, FL and haven't had a tank since the mid-80s. Sold my Harley so decided I'd jump back into freshwater fish with both feet. Just have a small tank right now hoping it's like riding a bike....you never forget. Going to expand throughout the new year as I adore Chiclids, namely Oscars.

Well, gotta run. Need to do a water change and maybe even rake the leaves in my yard. Heck of a way to break in the new year, uh?

The last big tank I had, I had two large Oscars in it. Had them for so long, they would eat out of my hand. Their favorite treat was the dry dog food I was feeding my pets at the time. LOVED IT! Silly things would rub up against the front of the tank when they were hungry.

I really do appreciate all the warm 'bubbles'. Think I'm going to enjoy myself and learn a bunch, too. Since I am nearly deaf, I'm going to be keeping my one eye glued to the forums....... ')

And, if someone has a few moments to spare, could you give me a quick run down of what's going on, where everyone seems to rub their noses on the glass looking at new fish, etc? Please feel free to send to me privately so we don't hog the forum with 'old news'.

On January 18th theres a Greater Houston Aquarium Club meeting/get-together. You should definitely try to make it, all the members are also members here on the box.

Not to change the subject but I've been busy today building an aquarium stand which is to hold two aquariums; a 20 H on the bottom and a 14 on the top. Is there any reason, other than weight, I can't install rollers so I can move the stand if I need to?
