I look forward to learning from this forum. I just bought a 55 gallon tank from a friend and started with a few black mollies and tiger somethings. Looking to move to saltwater after I get a feel for it

You may want to start a new thread in the General Freshwater Fish Discussions section for suggestions of what fish are compatible. just say what kind of tank you are going for in terms of aggression and what setup you have (pictures would help) and people will chime in with different types.
i am guessing the "tiger" fish you mentioned are tiger barbs, which are very commonly sold in many stores. i would not recommend mollies and tiger barbs together. tiger barbs are a semi-aggressive fish, and work best in larger schools to curb their aggression towards eachother and tankmates. mollies are strictly a peaceful community fish and the barbs may very well pick on and kill them -
