Going off your other thread, you have a good amount of opinions for a 33g. shellies aregood for that size if you are set on cichlids. depends what you like. some also go with things like rams, apistos, kribensis, or many other dwarf cichlids too

i wouldnt agree with putting mbunas in that tank size. they do require a larger colony to keep aggression under control, and each mbuna gets to the 4-6 inch range. i go 55g or larger for those colonies with good filtration. my africans are in a 75g

Yea but to start out Mbunas only get about 3 to 4 in on some and they ever hard to kill and they will live help in a 33 or bigger

Agreed. 33g is too small for Mbuna. Besides, the footprint of 48x12x12 is shallow and more suitable for shellies. This guy know exactly what he wants. LOL

Yea Mbunas live in shallow water in lake Malawi they can live in a 29 and up they are reAlly nice and the live in rock
