    Hi everyone,
    I posted about a filter recently. So I wanted to come in and introduce myself. I'm waaaay new to all of this. If you had asked me two months ago how I felt about aquariums i would have said..."Forget you!" I just never liked the whole aquarium thing.
    Then a friend gave me her 28 gallon(I'm way over filtering with an emperor 400) and I fell in love with the Rosybarbs she gave me (I would love to have some green tiger barbs) and the four jewlel ciclids...well they are pretty but SOOO neurotic. Oh and then I feel so deeply in love with her apple snail and shrimp that she gave me those also. They went into a 10g I then acquired a 25 gallon and another 10g. I have had the money to stock the last two. But little by little I hopefully will. So I've made a complete 180 I love my fish, snails, shrimp and tanks. I'm here to learn more and make new friends.

      Hope you got your filter situation cleared up! If you have the time make it out to one of the GHAC meetings where most of us will gather monthly to enjoy one another's company, swap fish stuff, etc. We are usually not far from 290 are compared to how far a lot of other members drive out.


      oh....I think the emp400 is perfect on the 28g!

              Welcome to the box :)
              I am glad you turned things around and starting to like the world of fish :)
              Btw you cannot over filter --- ask EK --- he will tell you there is no such thing as to high of a turnover of water...   Over filtering also allows for a higher concentration of fish because more of the waste particles ends up in the filter media where bacteria can easily break down the waste products faster.

                    Up to four aquariums already!?!? Congrats, and welcome to the box.

                        Four tanks...not really two are missing lights and hoods and one is missing a heater. (If anyone has those things to sell on the cheap pm me.) And the 25g only has catfish in it because they seemed very frustrated in the 28g. I had a pond snail problem of plague proportion. So I've had to take everything down and start over a time or two. If I had known I could have gotten some "hit fish" I would have. Thanks for the welcome everyone. I'm to embarrased to show of my tanks at the moment. But when I can get a picture up I will.
